If you are experiencing tooth pain, headaches, neck aches, or have TMJ symptoms, you may need to have your bite fixed. We can perform an occlusal adjustment, or bite adjustment, to make sure the teeth are coming together properly. The process involves biting down on a thin piece of Mylar paper so that we can see where the teeth make contact. Adjustments to the chewing surfaces of the teeth are made as needed.

Diagnosis & Treatment
In order to confirm the cause of your jaw pain, Revive Dental will perform a detailed examination of your jaw and ask questions regarding the type of discomfort you are experiencing. We will examine the way your bite comes together, as well as determine if you have a teeth-grinding and/or clenching issue that has gone unresolved. After a thorough inspection of your mouth and jaw, we will be able to recommend a specific treatment that works for you.
Occlusal Splints
In some cases, repositioning the jaw is sufficient for reducing stress on the jaw’s joints. To do this, we create a custom-made occlusal splint that is typically worn as you sleep. Throughout the night, the jaw can shift and put stress on your joints, causing you to wake up with jaw, facial, and even neck, shoulder, and upper back pain. We will make sure that your splint feels comfortable and fits properly before you leave.
